Sample Post: Talking to Kids About How AI Actually Learns

Sample content for integration testing. A parent-friendly explanation of training data, patterns, and why models get things wrong.

AI and Machine Learning
A child and a friendly robot sorting shapes into patterns

This is sample content created to test a Sanity integration. Kids ask sharp questions about AI, and they deserve answers that are honest rather than magical.

Models learn from examples

Show a model thousands of labeled pictures and it starts to notice what the labels have in common. That is pattern matching, not understanding.

Wrong answers are part of the design

A model guesses the most likely next piece. When the examples were thin, the guess is confident and wrong at the same time.

James Colestock is the founder and camp director of WizCamp, where he helps kids and teens turn curiosity about technology into real, working projects. Over the past two decades he has taught thousands of students to code, build games, and design with AI, always starting from the same idea: learning sticks when it feels like play. When he isn't leading camps, he's prototyping new curriculum, tinkering with side projects, or talking shop with the instructors who make each session run.
